Q: When do I need a scaffold?
You can hire a scaffold for a various amount of reasons. Q: How long does it take to erect a scaffold?
As every project is unique, there are no definite answer to how long it will take to complete the set up. Compared to speed, Moulton Scaffolding Services places safety at our primary concern. Rather than setting up a scaffold hastily, we want to make sure that we provide a safe and legal working platform. As a general point of guidance, a residential full-height scaffold would take roughly half a day to put up. This includes all the necessary safety checks prior to handing over.
Q: How much does it cost?
Unlike other scaffolding companies, Moulton Scaffolding Services do not have set hire rates due to our flexibility. The exact cost of your project will be influenced by factors such as the location of the site, the type of scaffold required and the term of the scaffold hire. Naturally, the longer and more complex the scaffold, the larger the cost will be. However, there may also be discounted rates for hiring on a contract basis.

Q: How long can I hire a scaffold for?
Moulton Scaffolding Services are proud to stand out from our competitors in that we have no maximum hire terms. We are flexible from one day to contract hire term of over several months. Our rapid assembly and disassembly times are suitable for ongoing projects which require mobility, such as housing development and large refurbishment projects.

Q: Do I need a license to hire a scaffold?
This would depend on the location of the scaffold. If the entirety of the scaffold is contained on your property, then you do not need a licence. If the scaffold will need to be placed, or at least partly, on public roads, then you will need obtain a temporary licence from your local council. This is applicable to clients of all sectors, including residential, commercial, and industrial with no exceptions.
It is the client’s responsibility to obtain an appropriate licence before we can start to set up the scaffold. However, if required, we can provide guidance through the application process.
Q: I have a sloped driveway; can I still have a scaffold?
Moulton Scaffolding Services are experienced in setting up scaffolds on all types of ground conditions. Our modular scaffolds are suitable for uneven grounds as each vertical pole is adjustable to provide a secure and level working platform. During the initial consultation, we will always aim to conduct a site visit in order to provide an accurate quote.
Q: What type of scaffold do I need?
We are experienced with designing, assembling and disassembling all types of scaffolds, including Tube & Clamp, Kwikstage and Trestle scaffolding. As they are each advantageous for different situations, Moulton Scaffolding Services will use our expertise to gauge the best type of scaffolding required for the project at hand unless specifically requested. If required, Moulton Scaffolding Services will be more than happy to provide information and guidance on the design of the scaffold required.
Q: Do I need a license to work on the scaffold?
In short, no. There are currently no legal requirements for personnel to hold qualifications before working on a scaffold. However, this depends on the height of the scaffold and each individual contractor. Most contractors and related personnel will have received training as part of their professional qualification- some construction sites will not allow untrained personnel access on site.
Moulton Scaffolding Services will be more than happy to liaise with other contractors on your behalf to ensure that sufficient health and safety procedures are observed whilst working at height.
